Gratitudes 11-24-12

Getting in and out of the city was a breeze, and a whole lot less expensive than I anticipated

I rocked out my interview. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I got to spend a great dinner with my mom and dad for their birthdays

I look snazzy in my new suit

I’m smart. And I’m grateful for that. Dangit. 🙂

Gratitudes 11-23-12

I skipped yesterday on purpose. I felt like posting gratitudes on thanksgiving was kind of obvious, and since everybody and their grandmother in the US does it on that one day, I decided to give them that day and resume as normal today.

So what in my life am I grateful for today?

My parents are awesome and gifted me the gym membership I’ve been wanting for my birthday.

They also sent me home with about 4 meals worth of thanksgiving leftovers. My fridge no longer looks barren.

NYCTF has weekend interviews. And I have one. Tomorrow. I’m excited!

I’m grateful that my sis and so many of my friends are teachers and were able to help me put my presentation together and really give me an edge.

I’m also grateful for the friends that let me try my demo out on them.

I’m grateful for my car and the independence it grants me.

I’m grateful that I know so much about life science that I had to narrow DOWN what to teach, instead of struggling to come UP with something.

I think I might actually have a friend at work. (gasp)

I got to have a great chat with a friend

I’m grateful for heating pads and Advil PM

I finally decided on my next piece of body art. Now to find an artist and save up for it…

There are things about myself I don’t like, but for the first time I’ve somehow found the inspiration and resources to change them.

Gratitudes 11-18-12

I finally got to meet my adorable nephew and spend time with him, my niece my bro and sis-in-law.

Got out of the traffic jam JUST as my gas light was coming on.

I’m making small improvements that are making me feel better about myself

I may not be a super expert in something, but I’m pretty good at a whole lot of things.

The funny things my brakes were doing have resolved themselves. Yay, no trip to the mechanic.

My new glasses were totally covered by my vision plan except for the nifty anti-glare coating. Even if I did accidentally pick out kid’s frames (I apparently have a narrow face). *shrug*

I’ve got my concept and a good first draft for my lesson plan. Starting to feel a bit more confident about this…

Got in a halfway decent run this afternoon

Gratitudes 11-16-12

Eye doc found nothing wrong, and my vision hasn’t appreciably worsened in the last 7 years.

Boss was awesome and let me take a long lunch to go to said doc appointment.

Other boss let me leave early so I could deliver something to the other office for them. Oh darn 🙂

I got to hold a friend’s hand while she got her first tattoo – her first real one anyway – to cover her radiation marks. Big day.

I’m thankful for small pleasures like dinner and conversation with friends.

Ms. Right

To get what you want you have to ask for it, right? Ok universe, I’m putting this out there. I know she exists…

She must be kind and thoughtful. Needs a good sends of humor. A little sarcasm is ok. Must also be ok with my sense of humor.

Needs to care about herself and her health.

Needs to have her shit together. Or at least in the process of doing so with a real plan.

Needs to be intelligent… With at least as high a degree of education as me. Needs a good dose of common sense too.

I don’t want or need a super model but she must be someone I can look in the eyes and be honest when I say “hello beautiful”

Must love animals and the outdoors

No smokers

Must enjoy sex and not be averse to trying new things.

Must like trying new things in general

social drinking is ideal, but doesn’t become a drunken fool at every party.

Must be drug and disease free.

Likes to dance and doesn’t totally suck at it.

Similar tastes in music and movies

absolutely MUST be out to family and friends. Supportive family preferred.

Must be able to take care of herself, but doesn’t mind me doting on her from time to time. It would be nice to have someone dote on me occasionally too.

Isn’t a slob.

Gratitudes 11-15-12

I got to leave work on time twice in a row! I’m not sure what to do with myself!

Wait, I know what to do… SLEEP! I am grateful for sleep!

I’m grateful that I have a good balance of book smarts and common sense.

I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow to take care of something (finally). Hoping it’s nothing major.

I have a pretty nifty apartment.
